Ever since starting this community in 2020, we’ve dreamed of creating it and taking it from URL to IRL. And now we’re doing it — WE ARE HOSTING A FESTIVAL! 🎪👯‍♂️💖 Have you ever wondered how the chaotic delight (that is our research) would look like if we did not do it online / in between zeros and ones? Picture this: a 3-day extravaganza in Amsterdam on May 1-3 2025 @ Loods 6, designed to push beyond mainstream AI narratives and amplify new, critical, and community-driven perspectives on AI. Imagine a space to linger, recharge, dream, and make—a living room for ideas where you can get inspired 🧃 scribble in the corner 🖍️ grab lunch with a new friend 🍱 jump into a workshop 🏗️ or just listen in on a conversation that shifts how you see AI 🥤

Over the course of the festival, we will move beyond the stale binary of techno-optimism versus techno-pessimism. We’ll deconstruct mainstream narratives, dream of new ones, and go deep into how we turn it all into practice—you know, what we do on a daily basis. AIxDESIGN Festival: On Slow AI will be a space where AI is for everyone, with playful exhibits, hands-on workshops, and thought-provoking talks.

This festival is the culmination of AIxDESIGN’s research over the last 5 years, where over 8,000 of us have connected online—and now we’re taking it offline. From URL to IRL. Whether you’re new to AI or a long-time maker, we’re excited to create a welcoming space to meet, explore, and shape the next wave of AI together.
