Who we are
AIxDESIGN is a non-profit community organization of practical radicals making AI work for the rest of us.
We bring people together – like designers, artists, technologists, and researchers – to challenge dominant AI narratives, research alternatives, and make them real. We publish everything openly and educate others to build critical AI literacy, because it takes many hands to make new worlds.
We are a global decentralized community with members across 40+ countires.

The story so far
We came together through our shared disillusionment with:
stories told and retold by big tech companies like OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, and Meta, which promise that AI will deliver ‘human salvation’, and
fear-mongering headlines sounding alarms about AI replacing us or going rogue.
AI is already here. It influences how we live, work, and connect with others every day. What matters most is who builds these systems, how they’re deployed, and how people use them.
Not resonating with either extreme, we practice a third position. One that exists in the fuzzy in-between, acknowledges a plurality of (sometimes conflicting) truths, and centers our agency within them.
So we bring people together to figure out how we can make AI work for the rest of us – because while we might not know where AI is going, we aren't willing to leave it up to Zuckermusk and the rest of the tech bros.
